Yield- 8 servings
1 lb stuffing cubes, store bought or homemade 1 medium onion, finely chopped 2 celery stalks, finely chopped 1/2 pkg sausage 1 1/2 cups chicken or turkey stock 1 cup milk 1 stick butter 2 T parsley 1 T chives Salt & pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350F
Place stuffing cubes in large bowl. In skillet, brown & crumble sausage until done. Set aside in bowl.
Sauté onions and celery in 1/2 stick butter until translucent, adding herbs and seasoning. Toss gently, adding stock and let simmer 2 minutes.
Add 1/2 stick butter, and let melt, stirring.
On medium heat, add milk, and let warm, being careful not to scorch.
Add sausage and stir for 2 minutes until hot but not boiling.
Remove from heat and pour oven cubes, tossing gently.
Place in greased casserole dish and bake at 350F for 35 minutes or until top is golden and crusty!
