Ingredients
Cake:
1 cup melted butter 1 cup hot water 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup sour cream 2 eggs 1 1/4 tsp baking soda 2 cups flour
Frosting:
1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1/3 cup milk 4 cups powdered sugar
Chopped nuts - optional
Directions:
Combine hot water, melted butter and cocoa in a bowl. Mix well. Add in the other cake ingredients, and mix until smooth.
Pour into a prepared sheet pan (or jelly-roll pan) (approx. 18x13). Bake at 350F for 20 minutes or until center is set.
While the cake is baking make your frosting.
Combine butter, milk, and cocoa over medium heat, mixing to combine. Bring to a boil. Take off the burner and add the powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
When the cake is taken out of the oven, pour the frosting on top immediately. Sprinkle with nuts if desired.
