Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 2-3 minutes Yield: varies by size of pieces
This recipe has been in our family for decades. It was a particular favorite of my late father-in-law, and making it always brings back warm memories of what a wonderful person he was.
Ingredients
3/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter (no substitutes) 1/2 cup salted peanuts 5 oz chocolate chips
Instructions
Place peanuts on bottom of a tinfoil pie plate.
Melt butter in a medium sauce pan, on med-high. Add brown sugar and stir to dissolve. Cook on low boil for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Pour melted sugar mixture over top of the peanuts. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Cover plate with foil for 30-60 seconds to allow the chips to soften. Remove foil, and spread melted chips over top, then place it in the fridge to harden.
Break into pieces, and store in covered container in fridge.
