This is an easy way to dress up the pork and beans in the can. Watch for case lots sales and stock up, and you'll always be prepared to make this awesome BBQ side dish that's offers variation from the same old sides.
Ingredients
4 slices of bacon ½ cup chopped onion 2 cans of pork and beans 2 tbsp of brown sugar 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp prepared mustard
Instructions
Cook bacon until crisp.. Drain and reserve 2 tbsp of the drippings. Crumble bacon.
Cook onion in drippings until tender. Add bacon, baked beans, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Mix well. Bake uncovered in 1 ½ qt casserole at 325 for 1 to 1 ½ hours.
This recipe is easily doubled for larger families or get-togethers. A great pot luck contribution as well.
*You can also simmer these on low in the crock pot as well.
