Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 6-8 hours Yield: 10-12 (varies on size of sandwiches)
Ingredients
3 lbs of. boneless pork (I used shoulder) 1 pkg of onion soup mix (or make your own using this recipe) 1 cup ketchup 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp. hot pepper sauce (optional) 10 -12 rolls
Instructions
Place pork shoulder in the crock pot.
Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl and pour over top of the meat.
Cover and cook in low for 6-8 hours until the pork is easily shredded with a fork.
Shred and stir to combine the meat and sauce completely, and then serve on fresh buns.
Mom's serving suggestions:
Don't just pick any old hamburger bun, pick your favorite
Serve with coleslaw on the bun for an authentic pulled pork experience.
If you prefer a lot of sauce, double the portions for everything but the meat.
Use the leftovers (if you have any) to make pulled pork pizza, using the pulled pork as the base, adding chopped Roma tomatoes and red onions, with shredded mozza or provolone cheese slices for the top..
