This recipe is adapted from one I found at our local grocery store. The flavor is amazing! Comfort food at its best!
Ingredients
1 sandwich loaf of white bread, cubed (crusts removed) 1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling 8 eggs 3 cups half and half cream 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup brown sugar 1 1/2 c caramel sauce 1/2 c walnuts, chopped
Instructions
Place bread cubes in the bottom of a 9x13 prepared pan.
In a large bowl cut up apple pie filling into smaller pieces. Add eggs, half and half cream, spices, vanilla, brown sugar, walnuts and 1/2 of the caramel sauce.
Pour mixture over bread cubes, covering them completely. Allow the mixture to soak in, pushing any dry pieces down into the liquid.
Bake at 350F for 45 -55 minutes until set -- top should spring back when touched in center.
