Nestle Toll House Streusel Muffins
MUFFIN BATTER
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour ¼ cup granulated sugar ¼ cup brown sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt ½ cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted ½ cup milk 1 large egg, lightly beaten 2 cups chocolate chips
STREUSEL TOPPING
1/3 cup brown sugar 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted ¼ cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350F
Grease or paper line muffin pans Combine flour, sugar, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
Stir in melted butter, milk, and eggs just until moistened. Stir in morsels Spoon batter into prepared muffin pans
For streusel: Combine brown sugar, flour, and sugar in small bowl Stir in nuts Sprinkle generously over muffin batter Press down lightly
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted comes out clean.
I mix confectioners sugar, some melted butter and vanilla with a little hot water to make an icing that drizzles and then drizzle the tops of the muffins.
