Cream Cheese Bars
INGREDIENTS:
2 8oz cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (you can buy the sheets without the cuts in them now if you look in the refrigerated section)
2 8oz packages of cream cheese 1 C white sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 C margarine melted 1/4 C white sugar 1 tbs cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350
Press one can of the crescent rolls into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 pan (don't separate if you get the crescent rolls just kind of press the seams together a little NOT HARD just easy). In a med. bowl, mix together cream cheese, C of sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Spread over the crescent layer. Unroll 2nd can of crescent roll dough and place on top of cream cheese layer (do not press hard just place evenly over top). Pour melted margarine over entire pan. Sprinkle top w/ remaining 1/4 C sugar and cinnamon.
Bake 25-30 minutes (until top is golden)
NOTE: for a holiday touch you can use a couple drops of red or green food coloring in the cream cheese mixture and/or use the colored sugar sprinkles to mix the cinnamon with for sprinkling on top of the bars at the end. I usually make the cream cheese a lighter green and use the darker green sugar on top
Also can give this a big flavor boost if you scrape a vanilla bean and add to the cream cheese mixture
