Debbie Keener Joyce shared this recipe that was passed down from her great aunt. She says: We just call it Mama's Icing. It never gets sugary stays kinda like a pudding not too sweet
Ingredients and Instructions 2 squares of unsweetened chocolate 1 c sugar 3 tbsp cornstarch 1 c boiling water
Cook until thickened, then add:
3 tbsp butter 1 tsp vanilla dash of salt
I double it for a two layer cake.
Debbie also says: I also whisk the cornstarch into the sugar before adding the water and chocolate. That way you have a better chance of less lumps.
