1 and 1/2 pounds of apples (Granny Smith is best) peeled, cored and sliced 1 1/2 tbsp sugar 1/4 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 c butter (or bacon drippings if you prefer)
Instructions
Toss apple slices with cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar.
Heat butter (or drippings) in a skillet. Add apples. Cook until tender, turning them as they cook to brown on all sides. Takes about 10 minutes. *Be careful not to overcook them.
