Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening 3/4 cup peanut butter 1 tbsp vanilla 3 tbsp milk 1 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed 1 egg 1 3/4 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda
Instructions
Blend together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk and vanilla.
Add in egg and blend until incorporated.
Add dry ingredients.
Drop by spoon on to cookie sheet. Press down slightly with a criss-cross shape with a fork. Bake at 375F for 8 minutes.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies
*** The secret to chewy peanut butter cookies is to refrigerate the dough for a few minutes before putting on the pan, and also to slightly underbake the cookies.
