Yield: serves: depends on size of roast
This quick and easy roast, is a time saver for those busy days when you want to serve something special, but are too busy to fuss in the kitchen. Put it in the crock pot in the morning and by dinner time you'll have a fully cooked roast with a flavorful gravy. Add potatoes and veggies, if you like.
3-4 lb beef chuck roast 2 cups water 1 pkg Italian dressing (powdered) 1 pkg ranch dressing (powdered) 1 pkg brown gravy mix
Place roast in crock pot.
In a bowl mix 2 cups water and seasoning packets until well mixed.
Pour over roast.
Cook for 8 hours on low (or high for 4 hours)
When finished cooking, remove roast and thicken sauce in saucepan with flour and cornstarch to thicken for gravy.
*To thicken gravy: Mix 1 tbsp corn starch with 1 tbsp water (for each cup of liquid you want to thicken) in a small glass, until it is completely dissolved. Add this into the liquid (you should have it on the stove-top) and whisk while bringing it to a boil.
