Southern Slow Cooked Steak
This would go well with our 7-up biscuits.
My local grocery store had petite sirloin steaks on sale for Buy One Get Two Free this week. They were perfect for this recipe. It was easy to put together, and 5 hours later, with a side potatoes, a vegetable and a salad, we had dinner.
Ingredients
2-3 pounds of petite steak, cut into 3-4 inch wide strips olive oil salt and pepper to season 1 beef bouillon cube 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp onion powder 3 cups water 1/4 cup flour
Season steak pieces on each side with salt and pepper.
Drizzle olive oil in a skillet and brown steak pieces on both sides. When done, move them to the crock pot. They do not have to be cooked through.
In the same skillet, add 2 1/2 cups water and bring to a low boil.
Mix flour with pepper, garlic and onion powders; add to 1/2 cup of water and mix well, until no lumps remain. Add slowly to the skillet, stirring as you do. Cook until a smooth gravy has formed. Pour gravy over the steak pieces in the crock pot.
