Tomato Basil Bread
2 cups tomato basil pasta sauce 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese 3 - 4 cups all purpose flour 1 pkg (2 1/2 tsp) active dry yeast Optional- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Warm sauce. Should be about 120F. Don't make it too hot it will kill the yeast.
Combine 3 cups of flour, parmesan cheese and yeast in a bowl. Add in Italian seasoning if desired. Mix well. Add in warm sauce and combine. Add in more flour until the dough comes together and is no longer too sticky.
Roll out dough to floured counter top. Knead until smooth. Place in a buttered bowl and cover until dough has doubled; about 40 minutes.
Punch dough down. Knead slightly and shape into a loaf. Place in a prepared 9x5 loaf pan and cover, allowing dough to rise again for about 20 minutes.
Place in a 375F oven and bake for 25 minutes.
Immediately baste with butter when it comes out of the oven. Remove from pan after 5 minutes and allow to cool.
