If you're wary of anything spicy you can take baby steps by using mild curry and leaving out the red (cayenne) pepper. I followed this recipe exactly and although I'm generally cautious about spicy foods, I found this very tasty and hte Island Salsa countered the mild heat nicely)
Ingredients 1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 tsp minced garlic 1 jalapeno pepper, minced 4 tsp mild curry (I used Mild Blue Mountain Jamaican Curry) 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp thyme 1/4 tsp black pepper dash salt 1/8 tsp red pepper (optional) 1/4 cup fine bread crumbs 1/4 cup water
I used 2 rolls of crescent rolls to make the patties, but you could also use our recipe for butterfly crescents if you prefer to make them from scratch. You can find the recipe HERE
Instructions
Brown beef, with onions, jalapeno and garlic. Drain.
Add spices, water and bread crumbs. Cook a little longer until thickened. Remove from heat.
If using crescent rolls from store, combine 2 triangles to make 1 square, sealing middle edges together. Spoon a couple of tablespoons of meat into the center, fold over to make a triangle. Seal well and place on baking sheet. Two store bought rolls will make 8 patties.
If you are using homemade dough, cut into 4 inch square pieces and proceed as above.
Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes. Serve with Island salsa (link below - click on photo)
