Southern Fried Cabbage
1/4 head of cabbage, sliced thin 1/2 red onion 4 slices of bacon 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 tbsp oil 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (or to taste) 1/2 tsp paprika salt and pepper to taste red pepper flakes (optional)
In skillet, fried bacon slices until crisp. Remove and chop. Set aside.
Remove all but 1 tbsp of the bacon grease from the pan. Add oil to the pan.
Add onions and garlic to the skillet. Add in paprika, and 3/4 of the chopped bacon (reserve some for garnishing). Saute for 2 minutes, until are translucent.
Add in cabbage, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes until cabbage is tender.
Season to taste with additional salt and pepper and/or red pepper flakes as desired.
