Sometimes there's just nothing like a good old fashioned home-cooked meal with mashed sweet potatoes, sweet corn, and fried pork chops. In the south they know just how to do them right!
Ingredients
salt and pepper 1 cup buttermilk (make your own with 1 cup milk and 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar) 1 cup self rising flour (make your own) 1/2 to 1 tsp seasoning salt oil 4 pork chops
Directions:
Mix together the flour and seasoning salt.
Season the pork chops on both side with salt and pepper.
Drench the chops in buttermilk, and then dredge them through the flour mixture. Allow them to sit in the fridge for an hour if you can.
Heat oil in skillet and cook pork chops through on both sides. Be sure not to turn them over too soon, but instead allow the cooking process to brown them before turning over. The length of cooking time depends on the thickness of the chop.
