Smothered Steak with Tomato Gravy
This would go well with our 7-up biscuits.
1 1/2 pounds round steak 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1 large onion, sliced 2 green peppers, sliced 2 cups crushed tomatoes 4 oz can mushrooms, drained 3 tbsp soy sauce 1 can (10 oz) French style green beans, drained (optional)
Mix together flour, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
Cut round steak into serving sized portions and dredge in the flour. Place floured steak pieces in the bottom of your crock pot.
Layer onion and pepper slices, and drained mushroom pieces and green beans (if desired) over top of the steak.
In a small bowl combine crushed tomatoes with soy sauce. Pour over top of vegetable layer.
Cover with lid and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 5-6 hours.
