This recipe is what we call around here "a keeper". It makes a great flavorful sauce/gravy. The pork chops are so tender, and can be cut with a fork.
Ingredients
4 bone-in pork chops 1 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 2 tbsp light oil 2 cups ketchup 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tsp liquid smoke (optional) 1 or 2 sweet bell peppers, sliced thin
Season pork chops with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Pan fry in oil until browned on both sides. It does not have to cook all the way through.
Combine ketchup, brown sugar and liquid smoke in a bowl. Spread 1/2 of the mixture on the bottom of the crockpot. Place pan-fried chops on top. Cover with remaining sauce. Add sliced peppers.
