Thank you to Jacqueline Edwards Schuster for sharing this recipe with us. Here is a bit of the story behind the recipe: LINK
Ingredients
1 ½ pounds London Broil (steak) 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce ¼ cup ketchup 1 Tablespoon vinegar 1 ½ cups water 1 teaspoon dry yellow mustard ½ to 1 teaspoon nutmeg (to taste) ¼ teaspoon pepper 2 teaspoons salt 2 Tablespoons flour 1 Tablespoon sugar
Directions:
Cut up steak into about 2x2 inch pieces.
Combine Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, vinegar and water in a bowl. Set aside.
In a large Reynolds oven bag combine mustard, nutmeg, pepper, salt, flour and sugar. Add the steak pieces and shake until everything is coated.
Pour the liquid mixture into the bag, place the twist seal on to close. Cut two snips at top of bag to vent it. Place the bag in either a casserole dish or 9x13 baking pan and place in preheated 350 degree oven for at least two hours. (Meat is ready when it gently shreds apart without use of a knife)
Serve over rice or with mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetables at the side.
Jacqueline says: this recipe can be adjusted by you as you want. (I usually use more ketchup Worcestershire sauce, and vinegar . I also adjust the other ingredients (but I have been making this since I was 13) You can make it your own.
Mom says: I didn't have a Reynolds bag, so I used a ziploc bag to combine everything and then poured it into a prepared casserole dish and covered it with foil.
