2- 10" deep dish pie crusts. Use your favorite pie crust recipe or frozen pie crust.
8 cups thinly sliced Granny Smith apples, about 8-to 10 medium sized apples. 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon pinch ground nutmeg pinch salt
Combine apples and sugar mixture together and toss until apples are well coated with sugar mixture. Place into pie shell.
Mix 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and sprinkle over top crust.
Bake 350* for 60 minutes or until apples are soft when pierced.
