1 cornbread recipe that makes 12 muffins. 1/2 jar of pasta sauce of your choice 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded topping of your choice, we used ground beef (the possibilities are endless)
The beauty of this recipe is its simplicity and its versatality.
Simply mix the cornbread according to directions (if you prefer to make it from scratch we have offered two recipes below - be sure to make the equivalent for 12 muffins).
Pour the cornbread batter in the bottom of a prepared 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 375 for 5 minutes.
Take the pan out of the oven. Top the cornbread with the pasta sauce. Layer your personally selected toppings next, and then add the layer of shredded cheese. I sprinkled a little Italian Herb Seasoning on top.
Put it back in the oven and continue baking for 15 more minutes.
Allow to sit for 5 minutes once out of the oven. Slice and serve.
Here are two homemade cornbread recipes to use with this recipe.
