Bluebonnet Scented Laundry Booster
It seems everyone is using manufactured laundry scent boosters, but like most things these days, it can add up pretty quickly. If you just can't live without that fresh scent the boosters give to your laundry, you're in luck, because making your own is super easy! I make mine with a bluebonnet scent because its one of my favorites, but you can create just about any scent you prefer as long as it comes in a scented oil.*
To make your own laundry booster you simply need inexpensive Epsom salts -- (check Walmart or dollar stores) and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. I recommend using oils that aren't high end and costly. I use 2 cups of Epsom salts and 20-30 drops of oil. Mix them together well and store in an air-tight container, such as a mason jar. Use 1/8 to 1/4 of a cup of the booster for each load of laundry. If you prefer a stronger or softer scent adjust the amount of oil. You can also re-use your store bought booster containers, so you'll be able to measure it out using the measuring cup caps. * I buy my bluebonnet scented oil online, and use it for many different things. |
