Best Rolls Ever
Ingredients
1 cup warm water 3 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 1 packet of yeast (1 tbsp) 1 egg 2 tbsp butter 1 tsp salt
*Egg wash - 1 egg and 1 tbsp milk or water
Pour warm water in large bowl, add sugar and stir. Add yeast and allow to sit for a minute or so, then add remaining ingredients.
Turn out dough on floured surface and knead until smooth. Shape into a ball, and place in a greased bowl. Place is a draft free area, and cover with a tea towel. Allow to rise for 90 minutes.
Punch dough down and separate into 16 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased 9x13 pan. Cover with a cloth and once again allow the dough to rise for 45 minutes.
Brush tops of the buns with an egg wash* and bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes.
Brush butter on the tops of the buns while they are still warm.
