Ingredients
3 tbsp cornstarch, divided 1/2 c water 2 tbsp water, divided 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 lb steak, cut into thin 3-inch strips 2 tbsp oil, divided 4 c broccoli florets, frozen or fresh 1 small onion, thinly sliced 1/3 c soy sauce 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tsp ground ginger hot cooked rice
optional
sliced bell peppers
Directions
** For added flavor I soaked my beef strips for a couple of hours in a couple of tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, covered, in fridge.
In a small bowl combine 2 tbsp water, 2 tbsp cornstarch and garlic powder. Mix well until combined. Add beef, and toss to coat.
In a wok (or a skillet) cook beef until it is done. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan cook the broccoli and onion (and peppers if desired) for about 4-5 minutes, stirring regularly. Add the beef back, and combine well.
In a small bowl mix together: the rest of the water and cornstarch, ginger, soy sauce and brown sugar. Add to the pan and combine with meat and vegetables.
Cook for 2 minutes stirring constantly. Serve over hot rice.
