We tried a new pork casserole recipe tonight. Simple and straightforward with a combination of fruity and savory flavors. I'd make this one again, perhaps in the crock pot next time to allow the meat to become a little more tender.
Ingredients
4 boneless loin pork chops or pork steaks 1 tbsp oil I large apple chopped, no need to peel 1 onion chopped 2 28 oz cans of baked beans 1/3 cup raisins 1/4 tsp cinnamon divided in 1/2 1 tbsp maple syrup 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
Brown pork chops in oil, in skillet. Set aside.
Saute onion and apple in the same pan. Add in baked beans, raisins, and 1/8 tsp cinnamon. Heat and then pour into a casserole dish. Add pork chops to the top. Bake at 350F, covered, for 45 minutes. Remove lid, and glaze the top of the pork chops by brushing on the maple syrup, sprinkling on the salt and remainder of the cinnamon.
Return to the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes more.
