3/4 pound mild Italian sausage 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup onion, chopped finely 1/2 cup chicken broth or stock 1 can 28 ounce crushed tomatoes in puree 1 can 8-ounce tomato sauce 1Tablespoon sugar 2 teaspoons Italian seasonings 2 small cans sliced mushrooms 3 Tablespoons parsley, chopped 4 Tablespoons fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped 2 green onions sliced thinly.
Cook rigatoni as directed on package, drain.
In a large frying pan brown sausage add remaining sauce ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.
In a 9 X 12 dish place cooked noodles and sauce, mix well and sprinkle parmesan cheese and Mozzarella cheese over the top. Bake 350* 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
